Uncle Scott and Aunt Lila came for a visit for their birthdays yesterday. Happy B-day guys! Lexie was on her best behavior and was very social so Uncle Chris and Aunt Megan came to say hi. It was good to see the veteran parents in action. Chris showed none of the fear in the eyes that plague so many of the first pictures of Lexie and me. Chris really made my day when he told me that this age was the best part. I always thought this was supposed be the tough part when they don't sleep through the night, but not so much according to Chris. He told me to wait until around 7 months for the real fun to begin. Thanks for good news Chris, your the best.

The Last night we went out for dinner. Lexie's first time out to dinner and her first time for sushi. The folks took us to Hapi in Laguna Beach. Lychelle has been craving sushi for a long time now, and Hapi is one of her favorite spots. Dinner was great, and Lexi was a perfect angel the whole time. Hardly a peep out of her! Bad daddy didn't any pictures at dinner though. My apologies, I was too busy stuffing my face.

To cap off the evening we had some dessert with the family and a relaxing car ride home. Lexie loves a good car ride. Better than any sleeping pill. Just watch out for those red lights, Lexie hates red lights...

------------------Big Day Out!

Nana Dopf and Lychelle's Coco Papa came to visit Lexie and took us out to lunch. Lexie's first outing in public! I was a little nervous, but Lexie came through like a champ. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio and Lexie slept the whole time.

Tonight Lexie had a bath and Marley tagged along. Marley is very protective and wherever Lexie goes Marley isn't far behind.

Well, Lychelle left me and Lexie alone today. In fact as I write this she is out on the town literally kicking up her heals getting a pedicure. I don't know what made her think that we ready for the this challenge, but I guess there's only one way to learn to swim, jump in a start paddling! I'm not going to lie, the road started off a little bumpy. A bit of a diaper blowout and Lexie was not pleased with the soiling of her outfit, but with a quick wardrobe change a few laps of the house calming her down we are doing pretty good now, knock on wood. I figure only another 45 minutes until mom gets back home so it looks like were going to make it. Another trial completed. Good job Lexie!

-------------------1 Week Old!

Happy one week birthday Lexie! Lexie is a week old today, and gave mom an early present by sleeping most of the night through. She decided to celebrate in true Carlson fashion and eat and nap the day away.

----------------------What's Up Doc?

Today was Lexie's first trip to the doctor and of course she had to get dressed up to go out. The doctor confirmed our suspicions, she is perfect in every way! The quote of the day goes to Lychelle who said "maybe we need some stuff if we are going out of the house". Of course she said this as we were pulling out of the garage without so much as a diaper in the car. This parenting stuff takes some getting used to. Baby steps...
