------------------Big Day Out!

Nana Dopf and Lychelle's Coco Papa came to visit Lexie and took us out to lunch. Lexie's first outing in public! I was a little nervous, but Lexie came through like a champ. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio and Lexie slept the whole time.

Tonight Lexie had a bath and Marley tagged along. Marley is very protective and wherever Lexie goes Marley isn't far behind.

-------------Mommy's gone!

Well, Lychelle left me and Lexie alone today. In fact as I write this she is out on the town literally kicking up her heals getting a pedicure. I don't know what made her think that we ready for the this challenge, but I guess there's only one way to learn to swim, jump in a start paddling! I'm not going to lie, the road started off a little bumpy. A bit of a diaper blowout and Lexie was not pleased with the soiling of her outfit, but with a quick wardrobe change a few laps of the house calming her down we are doing pretty good now, knock on wood. I figure only another 45 minutes until mom gets back home so it looks like were going to make it. Another trial completed. Good job Lexie!

-------------------1 Week Old!

Happy one week birthday Lexie! Lexie is a week old today, and gave mom an early present by sleeping most of the night through. She decided to celebrate in true Carlson fashion and eat and nap the day away.

----------------------What's Up Doc?

Today was Lexie's first trip to the doctor and of course she had to get dressed up to go out. The doctor confirmed our suspicions, she is perfect in every way! The quote of the day goes to Lychelle who said "maybe we need some stuff if we are going out of the house". Of course she said this as we were pulling out of the garage without so much as a diaper in the car. This parenting stuff takes some getting used to. Baby steps...

Home at Last!

Just got home from the hospital with Lexie. I have a ton of stories to tell on the blog, and 500 + photos to go through, but thought I would quickly put up a few pics to announce the homecoming.

The tour of Asia continues...

To continue our theme of spicy Asian food we went to dinner at the Tofu House. This time we were not the only white people in the restaurant. There were two others, of course one guy was with his Korean wife, and the other guy was with his Korean buddy, but still it's an improvement. Its nice to see the communities coming together so strongly. The food was great, I highly recommend it, but as of yet it has had no effect on my wife or my daughter. I'm thinking maybe we are barking up the wrong tree. Maybe what Lychelle needs is some bland Irish food...

Walk it out...

So Lychelle has walked more in the last week than she has in the past year I think. Every day we walk 3, 4, or 5 thousand miles usually in search of some new and exotic spicy food. I thought for sure the Thai curry on Thursday was going to the trick, but alas I think it worked better on me than on her. Today we walked the beach with the folks and grabbed some lunch. It was a beautiful day at Crystal Cove, and the grub at the Beachcomber was great, but Lexie still didn't want to come out and join the fun. Maybe tomorrow Lychelle will make me walk to Tijuana for some authentic Mexican food. Can't wait...

Close, but no cigar....

Well, we had a close one on Tuesday night. Lychelle starting having regular contractions around 6:00 and we headed out to Hoag around 9:00. Everything seemed good for launch, but the mission was scrubbed by Lexie. She's just not ready to make her debut I guess. All the grandparents came down to the hospital, but instead of a grandaughter all they got was a tour of the mother baby department. Nice views, but not quite the same. At least Lychelle made the Denny's call at 1:00 a.m. Denny's is always best somewhere between midnight and dawn. I wonder why?

No Progress and Monkey Madness

Well, no action yet. Lychelle's magic potion seems to be a big fat failure. She has a doctors appointment tomorrow and the doc might get things moving. We shall see. In the meantime I thought I would show ya around Lexie's nursery. It's 99% complete and the monkeys are starting to take over. My newest project is making shelves for all the monkeys to hang out on so my daughter can have somewhere to sleep, or grab a bite to eat, or be de-stinkafied. Hopefully I can finish up before she decides to make an appearance. In fact gotta go, the stain on my shelves are almost dry and need some love....

The Final Countdown!

Well, the big day is almost here! Lychelle is trying to speed things along the best she can. She's not very comfortable these days and wants Lexie out already. I'm slightly more nervous about the whole thing than she is, which is very strange to me since I only have to coach the big day, not actually play in the big game. Tomorrow Lychelle is taking some magic potion that supposedly will kick start delivery. I'm a little skeptical, but I guess we will see....
